Honorable Albert M. Toves

Albert Mendiola Toves was born on August 26, 1950 to Juan Cruz and Ana Mendiola Toves (Familian Jeje/Retchet). He is the father to Albert Ian Toves, Kevin Lee Toves, and Albert Mendiola Toves II
 
He attended Santa Barbara Catholic School in Dededo, Guam and Long Beach Elementary School in Long Beach, California, and is a 1969 graduate of John F. Kennedy High school in Tumon, Guam
 
A dedicated public servant, Albert served and retired from the United States Navy from 1969 to 1990 where he honed his leadership and operational skills. Following his military career, he held various positions across public, federal, and private sectors. His role included Special Education and Chamorro Class Instructor at Simon Sanchez High School under the Guam Department of Education, Installation Specialist at Carpet Master and Shutter Factory, Warehouse Manager for the Andersen Air Force Exchange, Project Officer and First Responder for the Office of Homeland Security (Civil Defense), and Community Maintenance Worker for the Tamuning Mayor’s Office.
 
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Albert is deeply committed to community service. He has dedicated countless hours volunteering at the Tamuning Mayor’s Office and has held several leadership positions, including President of the Tamuning Community Senior Citizen Center and President of the Island-wide Senior Center. He is also a Lifetime Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America (Chapter 668) and serves as a Commissioned Member for the Community Assist Police Effort (CAPE).
 
In 2020 and 2024, Albert successfully and consecutively ran for office and proudly serves as the Vice Mayor of Tamuning, Tumon and Harmon, where he is committed to addressing the needs and concerns of the tri-village communities.
