Honorable Albert M. Toves

Albert Mendiola Toves was born on August 26, 1950 to Juan Cruz and Ana Mendiola Toves (Familian Jeje/Retchet). He is the father to Albert Ian Toves, Kevin Lee Toves, and Albert Mendiola Toves II.
 
He attended Santa Barbara Catholic School in Dededo, Guam and Long Beach Elementary School in Long Beach, California, and is a 1969 graduate of John F. Kennedy High school in Tumon, Guam.
 
Albert is retired from the United States Navy, serving from 1969 to 1990. He also held various positions within both the public, federal, and private in agencies and companies that include the Guam Department of Education Simon Sanchez High School (Special Education and Chamorro Class), Carpet Master and Shutter Factory as an Installation Specialist, a Warehouse Manager for Andersen Air Force Exchange, Project Officer/First Responder for the Office of Homeland Security (Civil Defense), and as a Community Maintenance Worker for the Tamuning Mayor’s Office.
 
In his spare time, Albert has volunteered countless hours of service to the needs of the community, volunteering time at the Tamuning Mayor’s Office, serving as the President of the Tamuning Senior Citizen Center, the President of the Island-wide Senior Center, a Lifetime Member for the Vietnam Veterans of America (Chapter 668), and as a Commissioned Member for the Community Assist Police Effort (CAPE).
 
Albert was successful in the 2020 election and will now serve his tri-village communities as its new Vice Mayor.
