Franklin John Q. Champaco is a proud Malesso’ son. He is married to Leilani Arriola Champaco and together they have two sons, Branden and Shayne. Franklin is the son of Francisco “Kiko-Bihu” and Carmen “Auntie Mame” Champaco, his brother, Frankie Champaco together with Lucia Cruz and sons Darren and Antonio and sister, Frances Cho together with Jethro Cho.
Born and raised in the beautiful southern village of Malesso’, Franklin is a man whose life embodies generosity, selflessness, and a deep commitment to the well-being of others. Raised in a home steeped in strong family values, he was instilled with the importance of kindness, compassion, and faith from an early age. His upbringing was deeply rooted in the traditions of his culture, where community and togetherness were at the heart of daily life. From his childhood, Franklin was taught the significance of helping others. He grew up learning that the true measure of a person's character lies in their ability to give without expecting anything in return. This belief in serving others, in both small acts of kindness and grand gestures, shaped his worldview and became the foundation for his life's mission.
Throughout his 25 years at GTA, Franklin has been known as a “people person.” Whether with family, friends, or the community, he connects with others on a deep and meaningful level, building trust and fostering healthy relationships. He listens genuinely, understands struggles, and offers support without hesitation. Guided by empathy and a desire to make the world better, Franklin’s faith provides him with strength, purpose, and courage. His religious beliefs inspire his actions, allowing him to be a beacon of hope and reflect the love he holds for others.
As a community leader, Franklin is committed to uniting people, building bridges, and fostering a sense of belonging. He believes that communities thrive when members work together, support one another, and share in successes and challenges. His vision is a stronger, cohesive community where everyone is valued, and each individual has the opportunity to succeed. For over 15 years, Franklin has served as Head Coach for the Malesso Rebels Youth Basketball Team, a member of the Malesso Municipal Planning Council, and an active participant in every village event. These roles deepened his connection to the community, teaching him the importance of involvement and immersing himself in the life of his home village.
Franklin approaches challenges with courage and resilience, upholding values of equality, fairness, and justice. Whether leading social initiatives, volunteering, or supporting the most vulnerable, he consistently puts others first. His selflessness inspires those around him to serve with the same passion and commitment.
Franklin’s journey reflects continuous growth, learning, and a commitment to making the world a kinder place. His life is a testament to generosity, community strength, and the transformative power of faith. He remains steadfast in his mission to serve, uplift, and unite others.
