Honorable Johnny A. Quinata

Mayor Johnny Aguon Quinata will continue his third term and lead as Mayor of Humåtak for the next four years. He was born on May 4, 1961 and is the son of the late +Juanita A. Quinata and reared mother Priscilla Quinata. Johnny is married to Evangeline S. Quinata, daughter of +Joaquin Quinata and Maria S. Quinata. Johnny and Evangeline are the proud parents of a son, Kyler Siguenza, and three daughters, Siera Sanchez, Kaedlin Siguenza, and Kiana Siguenza. They are the proud grandparents of Alexander Santos and Amari & Christian Santos. He is the brother to Allen Quinataand Leslie Quinata.

In his early years, Johnny attended the former Francisco Quinata Elementary School, Agat Junior High School, and graduated from George Washington High School.

Before entering public service, Mayor Quinata performed numerous duties and held various positions; he worked a summer job at the Department of Agriculture as part of the Youth Conservation Corps. He was an instructor and boat driver for jet-ski and wind surfing operations at Cocos Island Resort. He also served as a maintenance worker for the Department of Parks and Recreation. Mayor Quinata was an environmental hazardous waste handler for the U.S. Navy Public Works Center (PWC), the Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC), and Raytheon Company. His vast experience, perseverance, and fervor have helped him achieve success in serving two consecutiveterms.

As the second term Mayor of Humåtak, Johnny has exemplified his dedication to his community through his progressive mindset. He fostered rapport with various government entities, the private sector, and numerous non-profit organizations to perform community projects and events. Johnny serves as an honorary member of the Humatak Community Foundation which cultivates responsibility through education, cooperation, and advocacy to preserve our cultural heritage. His partnership with the Humatak Community Foundation inspires the community partners to prolong and maintain the cultural and natural resources for our future generations.

Through these established relationships with the community and multi-agencies he has been able to successfully lead the events and projects such as the village cleanup, the village beautification, the coastal cleanup, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, the Annual Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony, the Annual Humåtak Fiesta, the Annual Halloween Spooktacular, and the Annual Santa Candy Run. During his second term, he was successfully awarded the community development block grant from the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority to renovate and rehabilitate the Humåtak Baseball Field. He also partnered with Independent Guåhan to complete the Na’lå’la’ mural at the Cetti Bay Overlook Park. In addition to these projects and events, Mayor Quinata has revitalized the Guam History and CHamoru Heritage Day Festival, formally known as, the Discovery Day Festival. The annual festival provides community awareness on the history, rich culture, and traditions of the CHamoru people of Guam.

In his years of service, Johnny has gained valuable experience and extensive knowledge by serving his community. His dedication and willingness to serve has prepared him for the many opportunities that await, the challenges that may arise, and the honor bestowed through the people of Humåtak for the continuity of fostering a better, safer, and resilient community for all.
