Honorable Dale Christopher Perez Alvarez

Dale Christopher Perez Alvarez, fondly known as Dale Jr., is serving his first term as Mayor of Sånta Rita-Sumai. He succeeds his father, The Honorable Mayor Dale Eugene Aquiningoc Alvarez, who is now enjoying his retirement after serving 4 consecutive terms. Dale's mother is Helen Barbara Sablan Perez Alvarez. He was born on May 31, 1973 on Guam and a lifelong resident of Sånta Rita. He is the third oldest child of six siblings. For 23 blessed years, Dale is married to Jenevie Galarpe Alvarez, the daughter of Timoteo Galvez Galarpe Jr; and Nelia Degom Galarpe.
 
Dale supports public education because he is a product of the Guam public school system. He attended C.L. Taitano Elementary School, Piti Middle School, and graduated from Oceanview High School. Upon graduation from high school, Dale entered the work force. He then enlisted in the Guam Army National Guard, 1-294th Infantry Battalion in 2000. Dale deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. First, to Djibouti, Africa in 2004-2005, and again in 2008-2009 to Afghanistan. He also served in several missions in the USA, Philippines and the Middle East throughout his military career. Dale proudly served his country and his island until his honorable medical retirement in 2014.
 
Dale proudly worked in the Government of Guam for over 27 years of service until 2024 when he decided to seek political office as mayor. He worked at the Guam Telephone Authority from 1997-2005, Department of Revenue & Taxation Director's/Passport Office from 2005-2009, Department of Administration Director's Office from 2009-2021, and Port Authority of Guam Procurement & Supply Department from 2021-2024.
 
Dale and his wife strongly embrace the Catholic faith where they are active parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Dale is also active with the island's sports since his youth. He played and represented Guam in the Guam Little League, Guam Babe Ruth, Guam Amateur Baseball League; Guam Major League, Guam Master's League, and the Senior Softball USA tournaments in Las Vegas. Dale was also a proud player with the Guam National Baseball Team who won champion titles for Guam. He also coaches for both youth and masters baseball leagues. For love of the sport, Dale continues coaching and playing in several local and military softball teams.
 
Dale is excited about his new role as Sånta Rita-Sumai Mayor. He has new ideas that will revitalize the village. Dale will continue the legacy of service and hard work to keep Sånta Rita-Sumai a beautiful, enjoyable and safe place to live.
